The Nest Day – Meals

A Love for Healthy Living

At The Nest, we believe a healthy lifestyle begins with a positive relationship with food. That means cooking together, enjoying nutritious meals, and exploring diverse cultures through what we eat. Our adventurous menu is designed to broaden children’s tastes and spark curiosity about food. From growing ingredients onsite to involving children in cooking, mealtimes are hands-on and joyful experiences. We also use these moments to model good manners and encourage positive eating habits.

Food at The Nest

A printed copy of the current menu is available at Daycare reception. We work closely with families to understand and carefully accommodate all dietary requirements and allergies.

A Day of Eating at The Nest

Each day starts with a balanced breakfast, followed by a healthy mid-morning fruit snack. Lunch is served around midday, and tea is offered at approximately 3:30 pm. At pick-up, you’ll receive a summary of what your child ate and how much they enjoyed.

Mealtimes That Teach

Meals are served family style, encouraging children to set the table, chat about their food, and develop social skills. Mealtime conversations often include discussions about healthy eating and cultural foods. Children also help clear away, fostering independence and responsibility.

Watching Food Grow

We understand that some veggies can take a little longer for children to try. But there’s nothing quite like the pride and joy a child shows when they taste a carrot or a sprig of mint that they’ve helped grow themselves.

Making Food Together

Cooking isn’t just about eating — it’s a chance to get creative. Our team guides children through fun, hands-on food preparation, often enjoying the results together at tea time. If there’s any left over, your little one might even bring some home to share with you!
