Enrichment
Core Experiences & Enrichment
At the heart of our curriculum are core experiences designed to spark curiosity, nurture independence and build confidence. These experiences include hands-on learning through sensory play, making, music, cooking, and small-world exploration. Children engage in meaningful activities that help them understand the world around them and develop key skills across all areas of learning. In addition to our daily provision, we offer a rich programme of enrichment opportunities. These include visits from community members, nature walks, seasonal celebrations, gardening projects, and themed days that bring learning to life. Our carefully planned experiences ensure every child has access to a broad, balanced, and exciting early education.
High Quality Texts
Our curriculum is built around a carefully chosen selection of high-quality texts that engage young children and support their love of reading from the very beginning.
Each book we select provides opportunities to build vocabulary, develop comprehension, and explore key concepts through discussion, play, and linked activities. From classic tales to diverse contemporary stories, our texts are “Widows and Mirrors’ which reflect the world children live in while opening doors to new experiences, characters, and ideas.
Forest Learning
Our Forest learning sessions offer children the opportunity to explore, discover and learn in the natural environment. Under the guidance of trained practitioners, children take part in outdoor learning that promotes resilience, teamwork and a sense of wonder. From bug hunts and den building to storytelling around the fire circle, each session is child-led and responsive to the seasons. Risk-taking is encouraged in a safe and supportive way, helping children build physical confidence and emotional wellbeing.
Educational Visits
We extend learning beyond the setting through carefully planned educational visits that enhance our curriculum and connect children to their wider community.
Our trips are purposeful and meaningful, such as visiting a local park after reading about trees or going to the post office after writing letters. These experiences help children make real-world links with what they are learning, developing their understanding, language and social confidence.
